Primary school opens prefab classrooms

Beaumaris North Primary School has opened new classroooms.

Beaumaris North Primary School has opened its state-of-the-art prefabricated classrooms.

The facilities include two classrooms, outdoor learning spaces, a wellbeing room and a teachers’ workspace.

They were designed by architects ARKit in close consultation with the primary school.

“The intent was to design spaces that engage and inspire young minds,” architect Mario Posala said. “We wanted to reinforce the idea there are no limits and that possibilities are endless.”

He said that it was also important to make the new classrooms practical for both students and teachers.

The designers used the work of mathematical Dutch artist, Maurits Cornelis Escher, as inspiration.
