DAN Stroede doesn’t mind talking about the ‘elephant’ in the room.

After all, it’s what he’s most passionate about.

The Frankston barista is keen to advocate for the rights of animals, particularly elephants. “I feel for animals because they have no voice and I want to be a voice for the voiceless,” he said.

Mr Stroede volunteered at the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand two years ago and is heading back again for another stint later this month. “I always cared for animals and I like doing things hands on,” he said.

His advocacy has impressed customers at his workplace, Trims Restaurant, Playne St, Frankston.

Customers set up a donations jar to support Mr Stroede’s trip to Thailand.
