THE dux of Ivanhoe Grammar School’s Ridgeway campus in Ivanhoe says he maintained a good balance with school by not neglecting his social life during Year 12.

And now Doncaster East’s Chris Neophitou hopes his ATAR of 99.6 will help him get into law at Monash University.

“I had a rule that I never studied past 9pm and, unless I was physically sick, I didn’t say no to socialising, if there was an 18th birthday or something,” he said.

And the rule seems to have worked.

“Seeing my hard work pay off at the end of the year was such a highlight but there all kinds of amazing people who I worked alongside – so many high achievers – so it’s crazy to be the dux,” he said.

Now Chris hopes to study law at Monash along with either global studies or arts, but first he’s enjoying a wellearned break on the Gold Coast before returning to start uni.
