It’s one for the money

Charity helps cancer survivors recover

I’d like to tell you a bit about Pink Affair, and why we do what we do.

We are the sole fundraiser for a special exercise program for women recovering from breast cancer surgery. It’s called Stepping Into Wellness.

This is a six-week, free exercise program held around Melbourne. The classes are designed to help women get their physical and emotional strength back after breast cancer surgery.

Many studies have shown exercise has very important healing benefits during cancer recovery.

But exercise can be one of the hardest things to get started after illness.

And it can cost money.

With exercise, many women who are feeling depressed and weak after breast cancer surgery don’t know where to start.

The last thing they want to do is front up to a gym by themselves.

This is where Stepping Into Wellness classes make a huge difference.

They provide these women with the specialised exercises they need.

Pink Affair will host an Elvis-themed fundraiser at the Manningham Club on Sunday, June 30.
