A WRITER, dancer and editor is using his experiences of growing up in the west to shape his performance at the Emerging Writers’ Festival which runs from June 14 to 23.

Adolfo Aranjuez will be performing a dance, which will be blended with the spoken word, during the 10-day event.

The 28-year-old, who is taking part in the festival for the third time, said he was responding to the idea of “place”.

His act would include elements of his experiences of being a migrant from the Philippines, he said. Aranjuez will be performing as part of Literary Live Art from 6pm on Thursday, June 22, at VU Metrowest, 138 Nicholson St, Footscray.
