THE depth of Southern United has been on display with strong results across the club, ranging from Premier League through to the Under 10s.

The Under 16 age group leads the charge in juniors.

The Under 16 B grade team has started the season with three wins, scoring 23 goals in the first three rounds and conceding none.

It had a 9-0 score line over St Bede’s on the weekend.

Matthew Hayes scored four goals and the rest were shared, including two each to Singtong Chan and Charlie Williams.

The Under 16 A grade team also picked up another three points with a 3-0 win over Waverley.

Most of the players also play senior hockey on the weekend with eight members of the Under 16 A and B teams figuring in the club’s Premier League and Premier League reserves teams.

The Southern Premier teams met Hawthorn on the weekend.

For the women, the premiership-winning Hawthorn was too strong, winning 3-0.

In the reserves Molly O’Neill followed up her goal for the Under 16 pennant team with two goals in the 3-0 win.

The men’s teams clearly took the points, a 5-0 win for the firsts with Nathan Ephraums and Matt L’Huillier scoring twice and Josh Mulder once in his return from injury.

The two goals by L’Huillier giving him 100 goals in his 102 Premier League games for Southern United, quite an achievement.

The reserves had a 4-0 win.
